Not Free Yet (2013) charts the lives of Burmese refugees living in the borders of Thailand in a political mans land, working in factories and living on rubbish dumps trying to forge a life in a country which does not want them and unable to return to their own.
Life of the Burmese border is rough and dangerous, this film explores the lives of various families, monks, political prisoners and academic exiles who have fled the political oppression of the Burmese Junta and who all now find themselves faced with new oppression and segregation in Thailand.
Not Free Yet (2013) was shot in collaboration with several grassroots NGO organisations who help the Burmese refugees in the border town of Mae Sot in northern Thailand. This film was given a tour of universities and was accompanied by a Q&A with UK based Burmese activists.
